Nolan Arenado won’t win the MVP this year, but he should win another Gold Glove — and perhaps as defensive statistics are better understood as time goes on, this will impact a future MVP race he may or may not have.
Clearly, he’s by far the best third baseman in the National League; really, he’s the best defender in the NL. That’s something. Couple that with what will surely be a 40-home run season and — BAM! — he’s got an MVP. Let’s just hope it’s with the Colorado Rockies?
