Future Colorado Rockies: Boise Hawks August 8 Update

The Boise Hawks are in the midst of their first season as the Colorado Rockies’ minor league affiliate in the short-season A Northwest League.

The Boise Hawks are having a pretty tough season in terms of wins and losses. Entering Friday night, they won just 17 ball games against 29 defeats, and interestingly enough they’ve particularly struggled at home — 9-17 in Boise against a relatively respectable 8-12 away from home.
Nevertheless, minor leagues — especially short season minor leagues — aren’t about winning and losing (unless you talk to the Cardinals’ affiliates), so as long as players are being developed…
The last week (2-2): The Hawks only got four games in the last seven days entering Friday night’s action, thanks to a three-day mini break for the Northwest League’s All Star festivities, which included Kevin Padlo, probably the Hawks’ Most Valuable Player on the season thus far.
With that being said, here are a few things to know about the last week in Hawks baseball.
