Jesus Tinoco

Jesus Tinoco is the least polished of the three pitchers, but apparently nobody told him that upon coming over to the Rockies’ organization.

In his first start for class A Asheville, Tinoco threw six scoreless innings, allowing just four hits and no walks while striking out seven Savannah Sand Gnats on the road in southeast Georgia (and not for nothing, the Sand Gnats have all year been the class of the South Atlantic League).

Tinoco is certainly the least experienced of the three, though, having only reached full-season A ball. He was having a nice year in the Midwest League with Toronto’s affiliate there before the trade, though, posting a 1.31 WHIp and a 3.30 ERA in 87.1 innings — along with 75 strikeouts against just 22 walks — in 16 starts this year.
