Now that the Colorado Rockies are in the middle of a long streak of games against opponents within the division, we might as well ask: which NL West team do you hate the most? Why?
I’ve been working on the Colorado Rockies vs. San Diego Padres series preview post that’ll run Monday, and it got me thinking about division rivals and good ol’ fashioned hatred.
I’m not talking, just, aw gee, their fans are pretty annoying (we can do that in a separate poll), or oh man, that team always beats us (you can throw objective facts out the window on this one and go with your gut). I’m asking about real, visceral, nonsensical hatred.
So let’s have a little fun. Rockies fans, you can only vote once, but the question is simple: which NL West team do you hate the most?
You can choose based on their players, their manager or front office, their payroll, their games against the Rockies, their announcers or local media members, hell, you can pick based on their uniforms!
Vote here:
If I were a betting man, I’d make the safe bet. In order of most- to least-hated, it will be: San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Dodgers, Arizona Diamondbacks, and San Diego Padres.
Why?
The Giants suck, man. World champs and all that.
The Dodgers buy their players.
The Diamondbacks are annoying but, at this point, relatively harmless.
And the Padres are just… milquetoast. I don’t hate the Padres at all. (Besides, Rockies fans have good connotations with San Diego.)
I probably could have made this poll with two options – (1) the Giants, and (2) anybody else – and gotten the same results. But I guess we’ll see.
And, you should tweet us @RoxPileFS, and/or me personally @BobbyDeMuro, and give us the reasons why you hate who you hate. Or if you hate a non-division opponent far, far more than anyone in the division, I’d love to hear why!
