An alert came out early on April 7th that new #PurpleSunday Uniforms would finally be unveiled for the Albuquerque Isotopes this afternoon and I was there.

Joey Wong shows off the new uniforms that will be worn exclusively during all Sunday Home Games this season. The new purple jersey and purple-trimmed cap expands on the Isotopes and Rockies close relationship since the beginning and this is the first piece of that relationship on the field. The Isotopes informed us the Sunday jerseys feature “Isotopes” across the front in silver lettering with black outline, while the caps are black with a purple bill and purple Isotopes “A” logo.

John Traub expanded on the partnership between the ‘Topes and Rockies,

“Since we announced our partnership with the Colorado Rockies, fans have been asking for purple uniforms and purple merchandise almost nonstop,” General Manager John Traub said. “We knew we had to incorporate some purple for the fans, but we also wanted to highlight our partnership with the Rockies. This purple Sunday jersey does just that and really provides a unique look to our uniform combinations.”

The Rockies and Isotopes are looking to build a long time partnership with the fans in Albuquerque and now fans can show their Rockie purple with the Isotopes on the jersey. These uniforms will hit the field for the first time this Sunday, April 12th at 1:35pm against the Reno Aces. Opening day is Thursday, April 9th at 6:35 and you can get you a Red Isotopes Beanie.
