Item: Corey Dickerson game-used bat
Current Bid: $85
As far as I can tell right now, this is the second-best bargain of the auction, right after the Rene Lachemann jersey mentioned previously.
Predictably, the bats for Nolan Arenado, Justin Morneau, Carlos Gonzalez, and even Michael Cuddyer are much higher. The bids for those items are all up over $200. But a Dickerson bat is still less than $100, making it a clear bargain, especially for die-hard Rockies’ fans.
Think like you work in a front office for a moment. Not a silly front office either; think like Andrew Friedman. You want to pay for future performance here. If you’re like me, you are thinking Dickerson might be the best hitter on the Rockies not named Troy Tulowitzki next season.
If you get this bat for cheap now, it might be a bargain as a cool souvenir in the near future because you paid the right price for future performance instead of overpaying for past performance.
