The Colorado Rockies received some more injury news Wednesday afternoon as right-fielder Michael Cuddyer exited the game against the Chicago Cubs after being hit by a pitch on his left shoulder in the third inning of Cactus League action.

Cubs right-handed pitcher Jeff Samardzija delivered a slider in the third inning that plunked Cuddyer on the shoulder he tried to lean out-of-the-way. Cuddyer would stay in the game for one play but would be exited alongside Rockies trainer Keith Dugger after a Carlos Gonzalez bases-loaded walk. Jason Pridie would replace the veteran in the lineup shortly thereafter.

Cuddyer like Troy Tulowitzki, is off to a relatively slow start to the Spring. He hasn’t recorded a hit in nine plate appearances. Rockies already have four other players battling the injury bug, including Morneau, Chacin, Rutledge, and Pacheco.
Again, Cuddyer hit in shoulder. Has bruise. He said it's sore but should miss only a few days. #Rockies.
