Former Colorado Rockies reliever Todd Jones made the 2014 Baseball Writers of America Hall of Fame Ballot along with former Rockies great Larry Walker. If you don’t know who Larry Walker is you haven’t been paying attention to the Rockies for long. On the other hand, who is Todd Jones, and why do I care if he is on the HOF ballot?

Todd Jones is a retired 16 year reliever with 319 saves and a 3.97 ERA. Jones played for eight different teams including Colorado in 2002 and part of the 2003 season. As for his numbers out of the Rockies bullpen, let’s just say he wishes he was around for the humidor era.

What’s more newsworthy is Todd Jones’ official release on the news as reported by ESPN’s Jason Stark:

I say Todd Jones should be a mandatory vote now, if for nothing else based on his humility.
