These are awards that are typically worthy of complaints. The Colorado Rockies and their fans represent a group that often get overlooked on the national stage. You combine those two factors, and one couldn’t help but gear up for disappointment and injustice as we waited to hear if any of the three Rockies’ Gold Glove finalists would be winners.
This time around there’s nothing to get mad about. In fact, things turned out exactly the way they should have. Carlos Gonzalez won in left field, Nolan Arenado won at third base, and Andrelton Simmons of the Atlanta Braves beat out Troy Tulowitzki for the hardware at shortstop.
Here’s a quick wrap-up of some of the reactions from those who follow, cover, and care about the Rockies.
Nolan Arenado 1st rookie to win Gold Glove at 3B. Award began in 1957.

This is the 4th time that multiple Rockies have won Gold Gloves in the same season. 2001 & 2002 - Helton and Walker; 2010 - CarGo and Tulo.

#Rockies Weiss on @CarGoMedia5: "Has developed a well-earned rep as one of the best OF in NL .. just might be the most talented outfielder."

#Rockies Weiss on Arenado: "I'm happy he didn't get overlooked ... being in Mountain Time Zone, sometimes we get overlooked.

Hat’s off to all three Rockies. We have learned a lot of lessons about what it will take if the Rockies want to return to the playoffs, and this reminds me of one that should not be overlooked: they need to play good defense. Having these three guys in the field is sure a good place to start.
