The Rockies (57-84) and Giants (80-62) finished up a three games series at Coors Field tonight with the team splitting the first two games. Jeff Francis (5-4) starts for the Rockies, Colorado is 12-7 in games he has started and Francis has not taken a personal loss in over a month. In his last starts Francis pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings against the Phillies while striking out a season high seven batters. Tim Lincecum (8-14) is in the middle of his worst major league season, leading the National League with 14 losses, but has looked good in two September starts giving up four runs over 12 2/3 innings, striking out 14, with the Giants winning both of those games.
Jonny Herrera gets the start at short and has done well against Lincecum in his career going 6-16 (.375) in his career. Carlos Gonzalez has face Lincecum the most bringing a .297 average (11-37) with two home runs.
