The Colorado Rockies (55-78) continue to look for their first win of 2012 against the Atlanta Braves (76-59) who have beat the Rockies in all four games so far this season. The Braves come into tonight’s game tied for the Wild Card lead with the St. Louis Cardinals.
Drew Pomeranz will start for the Rockies, the rookie left-hander has had an up and down season and currently sits with a 1-8 record and a 5.13 ERA. In his last start Pomeranz lasted 4 innings giving up 6 runs, 5 earned, on 6 hits against the Dodgers, walking none and striking out four. The Braves will send out Tommy Hanson who is 12-7 on the season with a 4.45 ERA, Hanson has lost his previous two starts giving up 9 runs over 9 innings against the Giants and Padres.
The Rockies send out the same starting eight that only managed one run last night, with Tyler Colvin and Jordan Pacheco switching spots in the order. Pacheco currently has a 12 game hitting streak, the longest active streak in the National League.
