Los Angeles Dodgers at Colorado Rockies, 1:10 P.M. MT

The Rockies (53-75) will attempt to finish off the Dodgers (69-61) and sweep their third series of August after only sweeping one series over the first four months of this season. Since moving into the lead in the N.L. West on August 19th, the Dodgers have lost 6 of 8 and have fallen to 3.5 games back of the Giants. The Rockies on the other hand have gone 12-4 over their last 16 games.

Drew Pomeranz will start for the Rockies and despite his 1-7 record, Pomeranz has been solid for Colorado, leading all starters with a 4.78 ERA. In his last start Pomeranz faced the minimum through 4 innings without allowing a hit until giving up two solo home runs in the 5th inning. In two starts against the Dodgers this season the rookie left-hander has held L.A. to one run over 10 2/3 innings with twelve strikeouts. Joe Blanton starts for L.A. and has been a disappointing early in his Dodgers career with an 0-3 record and a 7.71 ERA over four starts. In his only other start in Denver, Blanton pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up six runs, four earned in a game the Phillies would win 12-11 in September of 2010.

Carlos Gonzalez returns to the line-up after getting last night off, Cargo is 6-9 (.667)with 2 home runs in his career against Blanton. Ramon Hernandez gives Wilin Rosario a break behind plate, Hernandez is 4-11 (.364) off Blanton in his career.
