Marlins at Rockies, August 18 2012: Game Time, Lineups, And Preview

Miami Marlins at Colorado Rockies, 6.10 P.M.
Despite losing last night which snapped a 4 game win streak, the Rockies (45-72) look to bounce back tonight against the Marlins (54-66). Heading to the hill tonight for the Rockies is Tyler Chatwood (3-2, 4.28 ERA) versus the Marlins Nathan Eovaldi (3-8, 4.28 ERA).
Chatwood has been outstanding in his last 2 starts, posting a 0.82 ERA with 2 victories. In his last start against the Milwaukee Brewers he went 6 innings with 4 hits and 2 runs in a 8-6 Rockies win. However, Eovaldi has been struggling. In his last start last Monday against the Philadelphia Phillies, he went 5 innings with 8 hits, 3 walks and 3 runs in a 4-0 Phillies victory. His only start against the Rockies was in a LA Dodgers uniform on June 3, when he allowed 5 hits, 4 walks and all 3 runs in a 3-2 Rockies win.
Chatwood will look to cool off the Marlins Giancarlo Stanton, who hit a HR last night estimated at 474 feet. Stanton has homered at Coors Field in 5 straight games, joining the San Francisco Giants Jeff Kent as the only visiting players to ever achieve this feat. In his last 10 games he has hit .306 with 4 HR’s and 8 RBI’s.
The Rockies Eric Young Jr. will look to continue on his great recent play. In his last 11 games he has hit safely in 10 of them, batting .469 with 3 HR, 12 runs and 7 RBI’s. Young has never faced Eovaldi before in his career.
