If there has been one bright spot in this 2012 Colorado Rockies season, it has been Christian Friedrich, the rookie left-hander comes into today’s game with a team leading four wins after starting only six games, and is the only Rockies pitcher to start a game and have a winning record as he is 4-1 on the season. Friedrich will get his third chance to figure out Coors Field, in his previous two home starts he has given up 13 runs over 11 innings. The struggling Ervin Santana will start for the Angels, bringing a 2-7 record with a 5.33 ERA and an American League leading 16 home runs allowed into the game, and has given up 16 runs in his last 14 2/3 innings over 3 starts. Santana has faced the Rockies twice before in his career, but this will be his first appearance in Coors Field.
