The Rockies return to Coors Field after finishing a 2-4 road trip against Miami and Cincinnati, with a four game series against the Astros including today’s double header. Houston comes in with a 22-25 record overall but are only 6-15 on the road. This will be the teams second meeting of 2012 as the Rockies and Astros opened 2012 at Minute Maid Park with the Astros taking two of three games.

Juan Nicasio starts for Colorado and comes in with a 2-2 record and a 4.83 ERA. Nicasio’s starts in 2012 have fluctuated between good and bad, his last two shortened by control problems leading to high pitch counts early in the game. In his first start of the season Nicasio went 7 innings giving up one run on hits with four strikeouts. Wandy Rodriguez goes for the Astros with a 4-4 record and a 2.14 ERA so far in 2012. Rodriguez faced Colorado in the series opener giving up 3 runs, all unearned, over 6 1/3, exiting with a no decision in a Rockies win. This will be his 13th career start against Colorado and is 4-3 with a 4.01 ERA, including a 3-2 record with a 3.99 ERA over 7 starts at Coors Field.

Dexter Fowler returns to the line-up in the lead off spot. Jordan Pacheco bats second after having his 11 game hitting streak ended yesterday. DJ LeMahieu gets his first start with the Rockies at second base. Todd Helton comes into the game with a career .426 (12-28) average against Wandy.
