The Rockies will attempt to make it three wins in row in a day game to wrap up a two game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Juan Nicasio will get the start for Colorado bringing a 2-1 record with a 4.65 ERA into the game. Nicasio is coming of a seven inning gem against the Dodgers in which he struck out nine batters and only allowed one run on five hits with zero walks. This will be his second start of 2012 against Arizona, he only lasted 2 2/3 innings giving up 6 runs on April 13th at Coors Field, ending up without a decision in a game the Rockies would win 7-6. Starting for the D-Backs will be Trevor Cahill who is 2-4 on the season with a 3.65 ERA. Cahill last faced the Rockies on April 15th, picking up the win going 7 1/3 innings with one run allowed on four hits at Coors Field.

Michael Cuddyer gets a day off, he comes in hitting .091 (1-11) in his career against Cahill, Tyler Colvin starts in his place and hasn’t done much better with going 1-6 with 3 strikeouts. Jordan Pacheco continues his audition at third base with Chris Nelson on the disabled list.
