Okay, last night’s win was great. Other aspects, not so much. There’s no denying it. Alex White was… okay, but the defense really struggled. Once White departed, I asked a friend about her thoughts on Alex White. Her response? “I miss Ubaldo.” I’ll second that.

But today is kind of an outrageous day when it comes to Rockies transactions.

Stay with me – we have a lot to go over today.

The Rockies selected the contract of infielder Kevin Kouzmanoff today from Triple-A Colorado Springs. The team acquired the Colorado native from San Diego, and he will play today. The Rockies also optioned infielder Chris Nelson and designated reliever Ryan Rohlinger for assignment. That’s really frustrating because Nelson has been a solid glove and bat, and Rohlinger has also been very effective out of the bullpen.

The most ridiculous transaction isn’t really a transaction yet. The team is talking about a trade with Houston for pitcher Wandy Rodriguez, who is scheduled to throw for the Astros today. Who does Houston want for Rodriguez? Wil Rosario, the Rockies’ best prospect.

Umm… (Courtest of Austin Powers) How about no?
