Today’s Matchup – August 11, 2011

Another game, another heartbreaking loss.

Aaron Cook looked good to start the game, but imploded in the sixth inning before Edgmer Escalona came in an pitched 2.1 innings of spotless baseball, only allowing one walk.

So who exactly burned the Rockies? The usual suspects. Matt Holliday, Albert Pujols, and Lance Berkman. Oh, and Kyle Lohse also had an RBI, Really, Aaron Cook?

Bad news – it’s not going to get much better today.

Good news – the Rockies are kicking the tires on Phillies’ reliever JC Romero. Romero has posted an ERA of 3.86 and a whip of 1.71 in 24 games (16 innings) this year.
