Today’s Matchup – July 5, 2011

The Rockies’ lineup has been turned inside out and upside down today to compensate for the loss of Carlos Gonzalez (day-to-day with a wrist contusion) and Troy Tulowitzki (day-to-day with right quad tightness). No one wants to see our boys take the field without Cargo and Tulo, but these are the cards we’ve been dealt, and let’s hope that some of the guys who are left can step into the gap. Tonight Ian Stewart will have the opportunity to do just that. He’s been called up from Triple-A in exchange for Cole Garner and, while he isn’t expected to be with the big-league club for very long, he has a chance to step up and show what he can do tonight.
