The Rockies set their rotation for the next five days on Tuesday. Jason Hammel with throw tonight and Ubaldo Jimenez will close out the Mets series tomorrow. Jorge de la Rosa will open the San Diego series at Coors Friday, Chacin will go on Saturday, and Hammel will throw game 3 on Sunday. Jimenez will open up the crucial series against the Giants on Monday, while Clayton Mortenson will pitch the second and final game on Tuesday. Mortenson has earned this start as he has been throwing exceptionally well ever since his call-up last month.

On the injury front, utility infielder Ty Wigginton will play in two rehab games with Triple-A Colorado Springs Wednesday and Thursday, and should return to the club Saturday if those assignments go well.

Esmil Rogers has been slowed down on his road to recovery after feeling pain in his throwing shoulder Tuesday. He fears a rotator cuff injury isn’t out of the question, and if it is, that’s not good news for the Rockies’ rotation. Watch RoxPile for the latest updates as they happen.

Aaron Cook threw 35 pitches in an extended spring training game in Arizona Tuesday without incident. He should begin his rehab assignments Saturday, and he’s scheduled to start two games for the Double-A Tulsa Drillers and one game for the Triple-A Sky Sox. Cook hit 88mph on Tuesday, and looked solid. No timetable has been set for his return to the Rockies, though it will most likely be late May.

EDIT: Aaron Cook is eligible to come off the 60-day Disabled List on June 13th. He should be ready to go, as no indications have pointed to him being held back any longer. We’ll know more after his rehab starts.
