I’m back and so is the Morning Dump. Where have I been? Don’t worry about that. Just know that my absence may or may not have been directly related to the firing of the Fiesta Bowl president. Death to the BCS!!

The good news is that after a month of asking the same questions over and over again, we are just a couple of days away from getting some answers. Opening Day is so close I can taste it and it’s delicious. I haven’t been this excited since they announced season four of The Jersey Shore.

Optimism is felt by all in Rockies Nation. Many believe that this will be the team that finally wins the NL West and you can include me in that group. I think this team has what it takes, but it will come down to the breaks and their ability to handle adversity. In two days, we get to stop speculating. It’s time to put it on the field.

Dan O’Dowd has been impressed by his squad this spring. I can’t argue with anything he has to say here.

SI’s Jon Heyman is picking the Rox to win the World Series. Well, F. I don’t like being the sexy pick.

Fangraphs says that Colorado is 10th best overall organization in baseball.

Yesterday, the Rox traded minor league catcher Mike McKenry to Boston for relief pitcher Daniel Turpen. This was the best thing for McKenry. He has a chance to be a solid major league catcher, but it wasn’t going to happen with the Rockies. With Chris Iannetta already in place and Jordan Pacheco and Wilin Rosario pushing for big league playing time, there simply was no room for McKenry. Best of luck to him. He’s a smart player with a great work ethic.

MLB has created a seven day disabled list for concussions. I really like this move.
