To begin the second half of the season, the Colorado Rockies are headed to Queens to take on the New York Mets in a three game stint.

The Rockies come out of the All-Star break on a slump. The Rockies have gone 19-17 since the start of June. This record isn’t that bad, but considering the Rockies lost 10 of those games to National League West teams, they lost a lot of ground in the close divisional race.

The Rockies are now third place in the NL West. They are 9.5 behind the Dodgers and two games behind the Diamondbacks.

The Mets season hasn’t gone according to plan considering they are 39-47 and fourth in the National League East. This is in large part due to the injuries that have riddled the Mets.

They have 10 players on the DL including starters, Noah Syndergaard and Matt Harvey, arguably their best bullpen pitcher, Jeurys Familia, and players, David Wright and Juan Lagares.

Both teams are looking to start the second half of the season strong. But who will actually achieve that goal? Let’s take a look…
