There are only nine more days until Opening Day and rosters are starting to shape out. Here are three things you should know about the Colorado Rockies on March 25. 

Nolan Arenado is back

Having Arenado back on the team is always a good thing but this time it comes with perspective. Arenado struggled in the World Baseball Classic but that did not deter him. He finished well in the championship round and he brought that experience back to Arizona.

He told MLB.com’s Thomas Harding that he would like to bring that experience of playing in a playoff type atmosphere back to his team to inspire them when they need it in the future.

Jon Gray left with a toe injury

Arenado’s impact was immediately felt after Jon Gray left the game against the San Francisco Giants. Arenado had an RBI double in the seventh and the Rockies won 6-5. With many of the Rockies players experiencing injury, it was incredibly concerning seeing the Rockies best pitcher leave the game.

Fortunately the Rockies do not expect Jon Gray’s toe injury to be serious. The injury started in Gray’s last start when he was running down the baseline. This move seems like a precautionary measure and Gray should be ready to start on Opening Day.

Adam Gase visits Rockies clubhouse

Dolphins head coach and former Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase visited the Rockies at Salt River Fields. Manager Bud Black played Ace Ventura to introduce the friend of the Rockies clubhouse. Gase has visited the team before and considers Troy Tulowitzki and Tyler Chatwood to be friends.
