The Arizona Fall League’s 11th annual Fall Stars Game presented by Bowman Baseball Cards will be played on Saturday, November 5 at Surprise Stadium in Surprise, Ariz. Only one member of the Colorado Rockies was selected to participate in the game.

Ryan McMahon was the lone Colorado representative chosen for the contest, which will be televised by MLB Network, beginning at 6 p.m. Mountain time. Through games of October 29, McMahon was batting .214 with one triple and four RBI. He was selected by the Rockies in the second round (42nd overall) of the 2013 Draft. McMahon was signed by the Rockies on June 14, 2013.

McMahon’s batting average reflects some of the struggles his Salt River Rafters have had at the plate this season. Through its first 17 games, the Rafters were at the bottom of the AFL in batting with a cumulative .240 average.

Salt River is currently 9-7-1 and just a half-game behind the East-leading Mesa Solar Sox. Joining Salt River and Mesa in the East Division is the defending AFL champion Scottsdale Scorpions. Teams represented in the East include the Rockies plus Athletics, Blue Jays, Cubs, Indians, Marlins, Braves, Brewers, D-backs, Tigers, Angels, Giants, Mets, Phillies and Yankees).

The West Division is represented by the Glendale Desert Dogs (Astros, Cardinals, Dodgers, Nationals and White Sox), Peoria Javelinas (Orioles, Padres, Mariners, Rays and Reds), and Surprise Saguaros (Pirates, Rangers, Red Sox, Royals and Twins).

Every Major League Baseball organization is offered the opportunity to be represented by at least one player in the Fall Stars Game.

Fifteen of this year’s Fall Stars are ranked on MLB.com’s current Top 100 Prospects List. Those 15 players include five infielders, seven outfielders and three pitchers. The rosters also include 10 first-round draft choices and seven players who participated in the 2016 Futures Game during All-Star Game weekend. You can see the complete rosters here.

Managers Ryan Christenson (Athletics) of East-leading Mesa and Jared Sandberg (Rays) of West-leading Peoria and their respective coaching staffs earned the right to manage Saturday’s Fall Stars Game by having their clubs in first place through the end of play last Saturday.

Scouting and farm directors from every Major League organization, in consultation with Arizona Fall League Director Steve Cobb and his baseball personnel staff, selected the players for the annual showcase that pits top prospects from the Fall League’s East Division and West Division clubs.
