In a time where Republicans and Democrats alike are waiting to see who will be their presidential candidate’s running mate, we here at Rox Pile have formed an alliance with a fellow FanSided site to help get Colorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story into the All-Star Game.

Working with our friends at Climbing Tal’s Hill, the FanSided site devoted to covering the Houston Astros, we’re going to do everything we can to help each other’s player make it to the MidSummer Classic during the 2016 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Vote.

This is where you come in. If you’re a Colorado Rockies fan, of course you’re going to click here and vote for Trevor Story … but we’re also asking you to vote for Houston’s George Springer as we work together with our friends in south Texas.

So how else can you vote for Story and Springer?

Voters also can use their mobile devices to cast ballots at MLB.com/vote or via text message. To receive the ballot, text the word “VOTE” to 89269. To vote for a specific player, fans can text the choice to 89269. If using this option, Story is N5 and Springer is A5. See, we’re keeping the fives together by working with the Astros.

Additionally, this Friday, you can use Twitter to vote for Story and Springer. From 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. (Eastern) on Friday, July 8, any tweet that includes a designated player hashtag will be tabulated as part of the official vote total used to determine the AL and NL winners. So, use #StoryTime and #VoteSpringer during this time.

Story is competing with San Francisco’s Brandon Belt, Milwaukee’s Ryan Braun, Arizona’s Jake Lamb, and Pittsburgh’s Starling Marte for the final National League spot.

Entering Tuesday’s action, Story led MLB rookies in home runs (19), RBI (50), extra-base hits (41), strikeouts (106) and slugging (.544). He’s second in total bases (161), third in doubles (18) and tied for second in triples (4) and ranks among MLB rookie leaders in runs (3rd-47), hits (4th-78), walks (2nd-28), multi-hit games (4th-21), batting average (5th-.265) and on-base percentage (4th-.332).

The winners, as chosen exclusively by online fan voting totals, will be announced during a Final Vote-themed telecast on MLB Network and MLB.com from 4-5 p.m. (EDT) shortly after the Twitter vote concludes on Friday.

Story was one of the best, forgive the puns, MLB stories of the early season. He may have cooled off after his torrid home run pace but we believe there’s still a great chapter ahead for this Story by appearing in this year’s All-Star Game in San Diego alongside teammates Nolan Arenado and Carlos Gonzalez.
