It felt like we would never make it, but here we are – Opening Day is less than 24 hours away! Let’s get you caught up on some Colorado Rockies news, notes, and links on the Sunday off-day before the season begins.

The Colorado Rockies will open up the season tomorrow in Milwaukee, and judging by how the experts are pegging them to finish this year, as well as how they usually play on the road, baseball might start getting a lot less fun Monday afternoon. It could be a long summer.

But until then… the club is still undefeated, right?

Something like that.

Here are some news and notes to get you caught up on what’s happening around the Colorado Rockies on this, the final Sunday off-day before the regular season begins…

Purple Dinosaur Podcast, Episode 38. We’re here! We made it! The PDP guys discuss the four-man rotation, Jorge De La Rosa’s injury, and a few other things you need to know about the Rockies going into the season.

The Rockies’ active roster takes shape. Not too much of a surprise here, since we kind of knew what was going to happen with De La Rosa likely heading to the disabled list to join David Hale, but the Rockies will break camp with the following 25 guys:

Starting pitchers (4): Kyle Kendrick, Jordan Lyles, Eddie Butler, Tyler Matzek.

Relief pitchers (8): Brooks Brown, Rafael Betancourt, Christian Friedrich, John Axford, Boone Logan, LaTroy Hawkins, Christian Bergman, Adam Ottavino.

Catchers (3): Wilin Rosario, Michael McKenry, Nick Hundley.

Infielders (6): Troy Tulowitzki, Daniel Descalso, D.J. LeMahieu, Rafael Ynoa, Nolan Arenado, Justin Morneau.

Outfielders (4): Drew Stubbs, Carlos Gonzalez, Corey Dickerson, Charlie Blackmon.

15-Day Disabled List (3): Jorge De La Rosa, David Hale, Charlie Culberson.

60-Day Disabled List (1): Tyler Chatwood.

Hawkins will close; Boone Logan will pitch the eighth. That’s according to Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post. One problem with Logan in the eighth inning and Rex Brothers in AAA: that puts a lot of left-handed specialist pressure on relatively-untested Christian Friedrich.

Rest easy tonight, kids. The best day of the year is almost here.
