The Colorado Rockies are trying to keep their winning ways going this week with four games against the Texas Rangers. Monday and Tuesday they will play two games at Coors Field. Wednesday and Thursday they will play in Arlington.

If Nolan Arenado stays hot they will have a good chance to win some more games. The electric third baseman extended his hitting streak to 25 games with this two-run home run Monday night.

It was a sign of outstanding pitch recognition that Arenado pulled his hands in and turned on that pitch. Arenado had to fight off some pitches to extend this at-bat, showing signs that he is truly dialed in…as if the 25 game hitting streak wasn’t enough evidence.

One more thought: one of the questions that still lingers with Arenado’s bat is whether or not he can consistently bring this kind of pop. The signs have been good on that front so far in 2014, and it will continue to be a huge boost for the Rockies if he keeps it up.
