Nolan Arenado Sidelined, Or, Another Finger Injury For The Rockies

Yes, seriously, the Colorado Rockies find themselves affected by another finger injury. First there was Dexter Fowler‘s ill-fated attempt to bunt for a hit. Then there was whatever the hell is going on with Carlos Gonzalez‘s right middle finger. Now it is Nolan Arenado, out of Tuesday’s lineup with another finger injury, specifically to his right thumb.

Manager Walt Weiss sums it up:

"The hand issues we have had this year have been baffling.”"

Weiss might be a man of few words, but he always stays on point.

This probably wouldn’t get so much as a second look if not for the fact that Fowler missed a good chunk of time and CarGo now faces surgery with 6-8 weeks of rehab. An injury that might not have warranted much attention all of sudden sends up all kinds of red flags and alarms.

Just please get Arenado’s thumb better. I don’t care if he has to miss the rest of the season, he just needs to be right before next season.

And no more baffling hand injuries, please.
