September 9th, 2013. Colorado Rockies at San Francisco Giants, 8:15 P.M. MST

You know the setting well. September baseball in San Francisco. These are the series when the Giants fans all show up, bundled up in their orange and black sweaters and jackets, and make AT&T Park the last place any opposing team wants to play baseball. Even in a massively disappointing season for the Giants, it is never a friendly destination for the Rockies. This season is no different, as Colorado enters tonight’s game with a 25-47 record away from Coors Field.

Here is the Rockies lineup for Monday night’s game, with no Dexter Fowler and no Carlos Gonzalez and no Wilin Rosario.

Corey Dickerson LF
DJ LeMahieu 2B
Troy Tulowitzki SS
Michael Cuddyer RF
Ryan Wheeler 1B
Nolan Arenado 3B
Yorvit Torrealba C
Charlie Blackmon CF
Jhoulys Chacin P

We’ve watched enough games where the Rockies struggle to find any offensive pop in San Francisco with their #1 lineup; do we really expect much from this lineup? Of course this is the lineup that Tim Lincecum gets to face. Of course it is.

Speaking of Lincecum, here is the lineup he will have behind him, which is full of familiar names:

Angel Pagan CF
Marco Scutaro 2B
Brandon Belt 1B
Buster Posey C
Pablo Sandoval 3B
Hunter Pence RF
Brandon Crawford SS
Gregor Blanco LF
Tim Lincecum P

You know what’s going to happen in this game, right? Lincecum is going to pitch well and strike out like eight or nine Rockies. Crawford is going to go like 4-for-4 with a couple doubles and the deciding home run late. Don’t fight it. You know it’s true.
