Carlos Gonzalez Out Of The Lineup Friday Night

The Colorado Rockies are 2.5 games back of the Arizona Diamondbacks. In the midst of a skid with the All-Star break on the horizon, the Rockies need to play better baseball on the road and they need to win games in the division.

Tonight they start a series on the road against the Diamondbacks. Wouldn’t you know it?

These kinds of series are challenging enough under normal circumstances. The situation for the Rockies will be made more difficult tonight. Already without Troy Tulowitzki and Dexter Fowler, the Rox will also be without Carlos Gonzalez.

As far as the lineup is concerned, this bumps Michael Cuddyer up to the 3rd spot in the order with Wilin Rosario batting clean-up. It could be worse, or at least I’ll keep telling myself that and pretending that Jordan Pacheco isn’t batting 5th.

As far as the outfield defense is concerned, Tyler Colvin will be in center field while Corey Dickerson mans left field.

Hmm…

Jorge De La Rosa might want to keep the ball on the ground tonight.
