Game two of a three game set against the Cardinals takes place tonight with Drew Pomeranz facing off against Jake Westbrook. Pomeranz is looking to snap a personal three game losing streak and pick up his first home victory of 2012 despite a respectable 4.31 ERA over six starts at Coors. Since throwing 6 1/3 shut out innings and beating Stephen Strasburg and the Washington Nationals on July 6, Pomeranz is 0-3 with a 10.13 ERA with 21 hits allowed over 13 1/3 innings pitched.

Jake Westbrook starts for the Cardinals and enters the game with a 9-8 record and a 3.61 ERA. Westbrook last faced Colorado in May of 2011, giving up 3 runs over 5 innings and earning the victory in a game the Cardinals would win 10-3. He has won all three career starts against the Rockies with a combined ERA of 2.18. Westbrook was drafted by Colorado in the first round of the 1996 amateur draft, but was traded to the Expos in 1997 before reaching the majors with the Yankees in 2000.

Carlos Gonzalez enters the game with a 29 game home hitting streak, one game behind the franchise record held by Larry Walker. Andrew Brown will start in right field and bat clean-up against his former team as Michael Cuddyer sits with a sore oblique. Tyler Colvin starts at first with Todd Helton having the flu.
