As terrible as May has been for the Rockies, it been the opposite for the Miami Marlins. The Marlins are a league best 14-5 in May and have moved from last in the N.L. East to third, while the Rockies are a league worst 4-14 in May. Since April 30th the Rockies have dropped from 4 1/2 games behind the Dodgers to 12 1/2 games back and fallen to the third worst winning percentage in all of baseball, ahead of the Cubs and Twins. Jamie Moyer starts starts tonight and is the last Rockies pitcher to win a game, throwing 6 1/3 innings of one run ball against the D-Backs on may 16th. Moyer is 2-3 on the season with a team leading 4.20 ERA and his 45 innings pitched are second to Juan Nicasio by one out. Your “Jamie Moyer is old fact of the day”, Marlins Park will be the 50th MLB stadium that Moyer has pitching in during his career. Mark Buehrle starts for the Marlins and enters the game with a 3-4 record and 3.17 ERA. In his last start Buehrle beat the Braves giving up 4 runs over 6 innings. This will be his second time facing the Rockies, on June 29th of last season Buehrle pitched seven innings, giving up 2 runs and exiting with a no decision in a game the White Sox would win 3-2.

Micheal Cuddyer is very familiar with Mark Buehrle, he is 33-114 (.317) with 3 career home runs, Marco Scutaro is 8-20 (.400).
