Rockies Line-up, May 15 2012: Guthrie Returns

facebooktwitterreddit

Jeremy Guthrie returns to a Rockies team very different from the one he left, winning his last start before going on the disabled list improving Colorado’s record to 8-7, since then the Rockies are 5-14 and now sit at 13-21. Guthrie hopes to stabilize a rotation that has been one of the worst in baseball as far as inning pitched and has seen players go up and down between Colorado Springs and the major league team. Giants starter Tim Lincecum has been up and down in 2012, starting the season 0-2, then winning his next two starts, followed by giving up a combined seven runs over 10 innings in his last two starts. This will be the second time in 2012 that Lincecum and Guthrie will face off against each other, both pitched and were chased early in a 17-8 Rockies victory at Coors Field.

Troy Tulowitzki is in the line-up for now, but may be scratched at game time if his knee is not good enough to go. Marco Scutaro, Dexter Fowler and Chris Nelson will all start the game on the bench as Jim Tracy shakes things up a bit.
