Alex White will make his 2012 Major League debut for a Rockies team that has lost four games in a row, and is dead last in the National League with nine quality starts while averaging 5.3 innings per game from their rotation. White struggled through a finger issue in September of 2011 in which he went 2-4 with a 8.42 ERA and allowed 12 home runs over 36 1/3 innings. He has shown vast improvement so far in 2012, with a 2.92 ERA over five starts with Colorado Springs and not allowing a home run over 24 2/3 innings in the homer happy PCL. White did start against the Padres once last season, getting a win with 4 runs allowed over 5 innings in a 5-4 Rockies victory at Petco Park. Jeff Suppan will get his second start of 2012 for the Padres, Suppan is back in the majors after spending all of 2011 in the minors, and is coming off pitching 5 shutout innings against the Brewers and earning his first MLB win since beating the Rockies on October 3rd, 2010.
