Monday's Battery

We here at RoxPile feel that baseball should take a backseat to more important things at times. That’s why today, we’re going to repost all the links to tornado relief efforts in the midwest in lieu of baseball news.

However, in one baseball-related news item, the main attacker of Brian Stow, the beaten Giants fan who was assaulted outside Dodger Stadium on Opening Day, has been apprehended. He’s being held in LAPD custody on $1 million bail.

As for tornado relief, go to RedCross.org to donate or give blood. You can also text REDCROSS to 90999.

The Salvation Army has set up a similar donation site, SalvationArmyUSA.org. Texting is also an option here – text GIVE to 80888.

Alabama and Mississippi have set up relief efforts through their respective Governor’s offices, and you can find out exactly how to help at those sites.

Finally, The Corporation for National and Community Service is helping coordinate efforts in the south, and is the site to go to for all the details on relief efforts.
