Today’s Matchup – May 18, 2011

The Rockies open up their 2011 season series with the Philadelphia Phillies today, just one day removed from a sweep of the Giants.

Last night, the Rockies rallied to win for the first time this year after being down past the 7th inning. That was the team’s achilles’ heel last year, and so far, they’ve had 15 come-from-behind wins in 2011, best in the Majors.

Cole Hamels, the starting pitcher, has never beaten the Rockies. Officially, he’s 0-1, but that doesn’t take into account the 2007 postseason. It’ll be a pitcher’s duel as Jorge De La Rosa takes the ball for the Rockies. Jorge is 5-1 on the year.

Carlos Gonzalez has the Phillies’ number in his career, batting .429 against the team last year. Here are the lineups for tonight’s game.
