Tonight’s Matchup – May 9, 2011

Unless the Rockies can wake up offensively in this eight-game homestand, the panic button doesn’t seem far off. The Rockies face the Mets in a three-game set and the Padres for three before welcoming in the Giants, their 2011 nemesis, for two. The team can make a statement this next week, but they have to bring out the bats first. Tonight seems to be the perfect opportunity to do so.

Jonathan Herrera returns to the lineup tonight after a few days off, and Ian Stewart is hitting eighth again after doing the same in San Francisco. It’s not unlikely that this may be his last homestand in the majors for a while if he doesn’t produce, though there is a major difference between AAA and The Show. Here are tonight’s lineups.
