They released Manny?!

The Rockies released reliever Manny Corpas today. Long gone are the days of Manny locking down play-off games. The relief pitcher has battled injuries and laziness ever since his outstanding 2007 season. While throwing sixty-two innings in 2010, he was solid, but not brilliant. His season ended early when he blew out his elbow and underwent Tommy John surgery in September. The operation will shelve Corpas for the majority of the 2011 season and it will likely be late in 2012 before he is effective again. The Rox still owe Corpas roughly $3.5 million.
