I’m not so sure that other GMs are going to take a risk with DeLaRosa. He’s a mixed bag with an electric backfoot slider and a head full of self doubt. Every GM in baseball has got to ask himself, which George would we be getting? It’s only the wasteful few that will put something together and risk getting nothing in return. And if the prudent thing is to put together a decent base contract padded with incentives, the Rockies can probably match anyone in baseball and keep DeLaRosa in LoDo, where he’s likely to perform his best.
