Rockies to hold FanFest Saturday at Coors Field

Saturday marks the second annual FanFest at Coors Field.  Before the 2009 season the inaugural FanFest was for season ticket holders only.  The second time around the Rockies have been kind enough to invite Mini-Plan holders as well.

The day is filled with self guided tours of the clubhouse and the Rockies own museum.  The day also has four autograph sessions that will take place in the Mountain Ranch Bar & Grille, the restaurant the sits in the corner or the right field stands.

There are at least 14 players who are scheduled to make an appearance, whether to sign autographs, or be available to chat with some of the fans.  The list includes newly signed Huston Street, Carlos Gonzalez, Ryan Spilborghs, Troy Tulowitzki, Todd Helton, Aaron Cook, Eric Young Jr. and many more.

FanFest is a great way for the Rockies organization to connect with their fans and show their appreciation for the fans that purchase ticket plans.  Gates open at 9:30 in the morning and the event runs through 3:30 in the afternoon.

I was able to take my son and we had tons of fun. My son got autographs of Carlos Gonzalez, Jeff Francis, Ian Stewart, Dexter Fowler, new catcher Miguel Olivio, and coaches Jim Wright and Rich Dauer. We also got lots of great pictures for the stadium. We missed out on Spilly, Street, EY Jr, Hammel, Barmes, Hawpe, Smith and a few others. We didnt see and I dont think Tulo, Helton, Cook, Iannetta, Morales, Ubaldo, or Bentancourt where there. We did have a few other chances to get some of the young minor leaguers but they didnt have photos for the fans and I wasn’t prepared with extra balls or cards so we passed on some good young future Rockies. All in all we had a great time and kudo’s to the Rockies and their staff.

I was there as well. Tulo and Helton were there…they had an infielders session where they answered questions, it was pretty fun to hear them rip on each other. Those guys really get along. It was a great experience seeing the clubhouse and everything that goes on underneath the stadium.
